2D and 3D Fashion ART Modelling Course

2D and 3D Fashion ART Modelling Course

Blended

Training course

The aim of the 2D and 3D Fashion Art Modelling Course is to train complete modelling professionals who are able to use the most widely used software in the fashion industry in an advanced and professional manner. Tools and functions with which to create precise and fast work.
Technology is increasingly in the vanguard, today the emergence of a new professional figure, that of the 3D ARTIST, has provided an exceptional means of saving time and costs. Thanks to CLO3D, it is possible to carry out a virtual prototyping and design the garment without having to make it.
Under the guidance of highly qualified lecturers, students at the end of the course will be able to independently use the notions and tools of both software. The patternmaker is the equivalent of a fabric engineer, he or she follows the design of the prototype, takes care of the development of the design project, combining traditional techniques, such as paper patterns, with the use of the most innovative technologies with CAD, to arrive at the development of virtual prototyping with CLO3D. Course participants will explore new possibilities by having a direct approach to a cutting machine, a necessary debut for a tool now found in all leading companies in the sector. They will have the opportunity to closely observe a practical demonstration and make the pattern prepared during the classroom phase. The first phase of the course will conclude with a seminar, led by a professional from the sector.
The trainees will put the acquired skills into practice in the design of a project work, focusing on innovation and consolidation of the acquired notions. A project will be developed starting from the concept, the choice of fabric, colour and silhouette. The objective is to complete the same with paper patterns belonging to a complete outfit, virtual prototyping and the manufacture of the model cut in the workshop.

The role of the cad pattern maker and the fashion 3D artist, are professional figures that have become indispensable in today's market, often materialised in a single individual.
The pattern maker's job is to be the engineer of the fabric, the fashion 3D artist's job is to devise computer-generated images in a perfect balance between technical and creative work.
Today's fashion industry increasingly relies on technology, on a 2D cad to create precise and fast work and on a 3D cad to save time and costs.

What you will learn

The candidate will learn how to use the most widely used software in the fashion industry in an advanced professional and autonomous manner. Tools and functions with which to create precise and fast work in the area of pattern making, associating CLO3D software for the development of virtual prototyping, avoiding the need to unpack and make up the garment.

Visual artist

Antonio D'Addio is a visual artist, currently living between London and Milan.

His artistic practice is based on the hybridisation of different techniques, combining digital arts (image and video making, 3D graphics) and fine arts (sculpture and painting).

He exhibited his works at the Venice Art Biennale 2017 (VE), Palazzo Pitti (FI), Grattacielo Pirelli (MI), Teatro Litta (MI), Teatro Giuseppe Verdi (SA).

He is the recipient of the 'Franca Sozzani Award 2017', 'Vogue Talents Master Style', 'Murze Magazine UK' art residency.

He has worked for Vivienne Westwood, Moschino, Hermès, Vogue Italia, Pitti Immagine, Ducati, Martini, IED.

His work is featured in Vogue Italia, GQ, La Repubblica, Il Mattino, Murze UK.

He was born in Brescia into a family of tailors.
Growing up in the tailor's shop founded by his grandfather in the centre of Brescia, where fashion and craftsmanship are in the air, following family traditions is almost natural.
At the age of 20, he began his journey by attending different training courses, specialising in outerwear.
He began his professional experience in a company working for numerous established brands (including Reporter, Byblos,Cerruti,Renato Balestra, Lancetti, Krizia ), having the opportunity to work in both the women's and men's sectors, thus expanding his knowledge and skills as a model maker.
At the age of 28, he moved to Mexico, working for an Italian company in the industry that collaborates with world-class US brands such as Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.
The opportunity to be confronted with a professional and human world different from the Italian one, offers him the chance to increase his knowledge and define the characteristics that will form the basis of his path. .
After a brief experience in London at Vivianne Westwood's tailor's shop, he returned to Italy and was hired as a garment patternmaker at Armani where he remained until 2006. He then joined Dolce&Gabbana for 7 years, followed by a further 6 years at Prada, still as a women's patternmaker.
After many years in ready-to-wear, he went back to his roots and now works in a major tailor's shop in the city centre for a famous designer.''

A graduate 'Fashion Designer' in Rome, she began her professional career in 1975 at
various 'ready-to-wear fashion' companies in the role of Stylist - Patternmaker.
He then worked in Turin for a company producing the AnnaLinder line, and afterwards in the 'Gruppo Finanziario Tessile (GFT), where he became responsible for the brands Armani, Ungaro, Dior (Cori, Joan & David - Essence - Sazà), before moving on in 2001 to work (for 7 years) with the company
Lectra Italia and through the role of CAD trainer, she teaches pattern makers the transition to the use of CAD at around 200 Italian companies. In 2008, she was in charge of a project to upgrade the pattern department in a Tuscan company producing established brands, with the position of consultant-trainer. In 2019, she held the same position in another Tuscan company, producing leather garments.
She also worked as a trainer for the 'Benetton' company in Treviso, where she developed a new technique for designing clothing patterns: the 'Pattern Body' method, a new way of pattern design with a predominantly industrial imprint. Today she runs pattern-making courses in schools in Milan, Florence, Cuneo, Turin. She is a pattern-making consultant
at various companies on a project to upgrade the design area, where he updates the work cycle of model makers (senior and junior) and passes on his patented method.

Always passionate about the artistic and creative world, fashion has been the synthesis of my path in continuous metamorphosis and development. Graduated in Fashion Design at IED Turin, subsequently immersed in the world of Max Mara and Sportmax from October 2019. During my professional career I have been catapulted 360 degrees into the fashion hemisphere, with a main focus on 3D Design, the present and future of the fashion scene and beyond.
