The role of the cad pattern maker and the fashion 3D artist, are professional figures that have become indispensable in today's market, often materialised in a single individual.
The pattern maker's job is to be the engineer of the fabric, the fashion 3D artist's job is to devise computer-generated images in a perfect balance between technical and creative work.
Today's fashion industry increasingly relies on technology, on a 2D cad to create precise and fast work and on a 3D cad to save time and costs.
Training course
The aim of the 2D and 3D Fashion Art Modelling Course is to train complete modelling professionals who are able to use the most widely used software in the fashion industry in an advanced and professional manner. Tools and functions with which to create precise and fast work.
Technology is increasingly in the vanguard, today the emergence of a new professional figure, that of the 3D ARTIST, has provided an exceptional means of saving time and costs. Thanks to CLO3D, it is possible to carry out a virtual prototyping and design the garment without having to make it.
Under the guidance of highly qualified lecturers, students at the end of the course will be able to independently use the notions and tools of both software. The patternmaker is the equivalent of a fabric engineer, he or she follows the design of the prototype, takes care of the development of the design project, combining traditional techniques, such as paper patterns, with the use of the most innovative technologies with CAD, to arrive at the development of virtual prototyping with CLO3D. Course participants will explore new possibilities by having a direct approach to a cutting machine, a necessary debut for a tool now found in all leading companies in the sector. They will have the opportunity to closely observe a practical demonstration and make the pattern prepared during the classroom phase. The first phase of the course will conclude with a seminar, led by a professional from the sector.
The trainees will put the acquired skills into practice in the design of a project work, focusing on innovation and consolidation of the acquired notions. A project will be developed starting from the concept, the choice of fabric, colour and silhouette. The objective is to complete the same with paper patterns belonging to a complete outfit, virtual prototyping and the manufacture of the model cut in the workshop.
