Rolls Royce Phantom 2018: the world's most luxurious limousine

Index

It was designed to be the most luxurious car in the world and indeed, the eighth generation of the British limousine has proved to be so. The new Rolls Royce Phantom 2018 is inspired by the traditional styling of the previous generations while presenting some modifications that enhance an already unique model.

Among the most important innovations is the use of the new modular platform Spaceframe of aluminium, calledArchitecture of Luxury"on which the models will also be based Suv Project Cullinan, Ghost, Wraith e Dawn.
But the Rolls Royce Phantom 2018 is characterised by the extreme customisation concept: the dashboard is enclosed behind tempered glass that can be customised with leather, wood and metal decorations produced by the craftsmen of the Bespoke or by your trusted artist.

To demonstrate the potential of this tool, the car manufacturer refers to the oil paintings of the Chinese Lian Yangweito gold-plated 3D maps of their DNA created by German Thortsen Franckto the porcelain roses of Nymphenburg and the abstract silk designs of Helen Amy Murray. Another new feature is the headlights that use laser technology, one of the most advanced on the market today and capable of illuminating up to 600 metres away.

The exterior design is characterised by a more dynamic rear cut reminiscent of 1950s and 1960s models, but without reducing the available interior space.

The cockpit, then, is a real gem: the design is traditional but the technology on this model far exceeds its predecessors. On the dashboard there is a 12.3-inch touch screen with multimedia system functions on either side of which are customisable decorative panels.

The new electrical system has made it possible to include the latest infotainment and driver assistance systems such as Active Cruise Control, collision warning, pedestrian warning, cross-traffic warning, lane departure and lane change warning, Alertness Assistant, Panoramic View system with four cameras, Night Vision with Vision Assist and colour head-up display.

In addition, 130 kg of insulation material, 6 mm thick laminated glass and special tyres capable of reducing rolling noise by 9 decibels were used to ensure perfect acoustics and quietness in the passenger compartment.

The new Rolls Royce Phantom 2018 is a true luxury car that promises to rewrite the history of this sector.
