Brand lovers Land Rover are ready to celebrate. This year, in fact, the British car manufacturer, specialising in the production of off-road and Sport Utility Vehicle, turns 70 years old and is giving its fans a wonderful surprise to mark the occasion. Recently the company of Solihull rediscovered, in an English countryside, a very rare example of it and one of the first three off-road models that were launched back in 1948 at the Amsterdam Motor Showstarting the life of the historic brand.
An important model as the off-roader is considered the ancestor of the world-famous Defender which, produced in only three examples, had revealed to the world the original design of the Land Rover. The newly found vehicle had been on the road until 1960, then sat idle until the car manufacturer found it in the English countryside, close to the original Defender.

There is something fascinating about the fact that, exactly 70 years ago, this vehicle was in the final stages of preparation for the launch of Amsterdam 1948 - where for the first time the world laid eyes on the line that, from that moment on, was immediately recognised as Land Rover".
