The objective of the Fashion design course  is to acquire and deepen skills in drawing, colouring and rendering techniques for the garment industry.

Under the guidance of highly qualified lecturers, the students will follow a well-defined course of study that provides them with the tools and notions indispensable for portfolio design. Today the Fashion designer is the one who directs the 'yard' of fashion, a creative figure, capable of giving shape and new life to fabrics and objects.

After acquiring the basics of design, the student gets to the heart of the matter. Research into present, past and future fashion trends is necessary for the development of a concept. What the students will develop in the project work phase will be the development of a collection complete with colour cards, fabrics, trims and moodboards. Italian Design Institute offers a course that embraces tradition and innovation. From teaching traditional drawing techniques to the use of indispensable software such as Photoshop and illustrator.

Ghe students on the course will explore new possibilities by having a direct approach to two realities that underpin the fashion world. The textile factory of Achille Pinto, able to give a complete overview of everything related to the production and realisation of fabric from scratch. The students will also have the opportunity to visit a print shop, receiving a detailed explanation of how the machines work, what types of materials are suitable for printing on and how.

What you will learn

The candidate will learn to use traditional drawing and colouring techniques, using hand-made illustrative methods. Rendering of figures will be designed with today's most popular software, Photoshop and Illustrator .

Job opportunities

At the end of the course, trainees will be able to enter the fashion world as Fashion designerFashion graphic designer or as Fashion consultants. They can also work as freelancers or within style offices.

Phases of the course

  • Introduction: Books + online platform + an introductory online meeting (of 4 hours).
  • Classroom phase: 96 hours: 40 hours in full immersion at the Achille Pinto company + 56 hours online (3 appointments of 4 hours per week).
  • Project work: 3 months to develop a project following the outline provided by the lecturer.
  • Optional internship (minimum 300 hours) throughout the country.
  • Dissemination of the professional profile nationwide.

Facilitations

Possibility of financing the enrolment fee Video CV editing and updating for dissemination to companies in the sector at the end of the training course in the candidate's region of preference.

It is possible and advisable to send a portfolio of previous works. The examining commission, considering these elements, will communicate the result of the selection and the admission to the Course by filling the application form.

TEACHERS

Fashion designer and product manager, expert in yarns, fabrics and leathers. Roman by birth, she has lived and worked in Milan as a fashion designer since 1985.
Long and varied creative collaborations with important Italian luxury fashion brands such as Krizia and Mila Schön have allowed her to work for many years both in the design of the first and second womenswear/ menswear lines and in leather goods and footwear. Today she is the owner in Milan of a design consultancy BB studio for womenswear, knitwear, beachwear, footwear, leather goods and fashion trend research. Always fascinated by the world of underwear and beachwear, in 2007 she started her own underwear/loungewear/beachwear line. Since 2008 she has also started collaborating with important Italian and foreign fashion academies as a lecturer in womenswear design, accessories, beachwear, merchandising, fashion history and fashion software in post-diploma and master's courses also in English.

After graduating in Fashion & Textile Design at the IED in Como, he began working in the style office of some of the most important textile companies in the Como area, following brands such as Dolce&Gabbana and Versace. His most recent experiences include the world of Fast Fashion, creating collections of printed fabrics for Zara and Mango.
Since 2020 he has pursued a freelance career supporting companies and brands in the development of clothing collections from creative direction to finished product.
Always attentive to fashion trends and innovations in textiles, her creations are an expression of creativity and technique.
