  • History of beachwear, evolution and current trends.

2. Merchandise

Study of materials for a 'beachwear' collection with relevant techniques of
processing and the subsequent use of each within a collection

  •  Textiles: fibres, yarns, fabrics
  • Weaving cycle
  • Textile surfaces: woven, knitted, non-woven, special fabrics
  • Fundamental shuttle and mesh reinforcements: analysis and classification
  • Properties of beachwear fabrics and accessories: elasticity, resistance to salt, chlorine and sun,
    quick-drying, hypoallergenic, anti-corrosion and heat-resistant metals
  • Characterisation techniques for design: ink jet and transfer/laser/fock colour printing, embroidery and application of rhinestones/hotfx studs/cords/fringes
  •  Accessories for decoration: rings, knot clasps, pendants, fringes...
  • Technical accessories useful for modelling: metal sliders / sticks / hooks and
    plastic/giki/rings, para-elastics, invisible elastic bands for interiors and rivets

TEACHERS

Fashion designer and product manager, expert in yarns, fabrics and leathers. Roman by birth, she has lived and worked in Milan as a fashion designer since 1985.
Long and varied creative collaborations with important Italian luxury fashion brands such as Krizia and Mila Schön have allowed her to work for many years both in the design of the first and second womenswear/ menswear lines and in leather goods and footwear. Today she is the owner in Milan of a design consultancy BB studio for womenswear, knitwear, beachwear, footwear, leather goods and fashion trend research. Always fascinated by the world of underwear and beachwear, in 2007 she started her own underwear/loungewear/beachwear line. Since 2008 she has also started collaborating with important Italian and foreign fashion academies as a lecturer in womenswear design, accessories, beachwear, merchandising, fashion history and fashion software in post-diploma and master's courses also in English.
