Visual Merchandising, design of shop windows and display spaces

Index

Designing display spaces, shop windows and concept stores. Capturing the customer's attention and maximising business through the design of the spaces themselves. An activity with a clear name, the Visual Merchindising. Designed by Italian Design Institute, a higher education institution with many years of experience that organises courses in the field of design at three hundred and sixty degrees, the course in Visual Merchindising is designed to create complete professionals in the visual and fashion design.

Creating a play of light and shadow to emphasise the strengths of the brandand enhance the products. This is also part of the visual logic, because the ultimate goal is still to make the customer buy the product in question. Especially with regard to the fashion industry, enhancing the customer's mood, thus leading to their loyalty to the brand and leaving them with a positive experience upon entering the business.

A strategy that is always changing, that goes hand in hand with changing fashions, product renewal, and that is characteristic of the Visual Merchandising. This figure has the task of managing precisely this constant transformation, in an attempt to anticipate the trends of the moment. How? By involving all the customer's senses, enticing them to buy a particular product, giving information through the visual. Thanks to IDI's course, it is possible to be directed towards sectoral job opportunities in an increasingly competitive market. The fashion visual may be in charge of brand design, as a window dresser for specific shops or retail outlets, but also in service companies specialising in fittings, or as a freelancer.

The Visual Designer, in fact, works closely with web designers, also to present the brand online and thus increase its audience, through website visits and newsletter subscriptions. This, too, is visual communication of the highest level, which cannot be overlooked.
