Imagine waking up one morning, opening your eyes with the sun coming through the window and an endless expanse of sea in front of you. A dream? No. The project created by the American artist Alex Hogrefe.
Among the founders of the firm Boston Design Distill (USA), an architecture, urban design and visual architecture studio, is the creator of a spectacular home perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with a panorama that is nothing short of breathtaking.
The Hogrefe project
It is a concept of the so-called visual architecturethrough it Alex expresses his idea of proportions, lighting, compositions and other elements related to design images.
Visual architecture, in fact, makes it possible to share with the client not only the project to be realised but also in a more immediate way the emotions that are intended to be aroused: it is aimed at simplifying and making the execution of a project more productive.
Suspended between heaven and earth, Alex uses a futuristic approach that is at the same time connected to the wilderness. Via Photoshop the architect has created absurdly realistic interiors and exteriors. It is, in fact, only a prototype at the moment. The dwelling is completely designed in concrete, glass and metal and stands vertically on the cliff. Equipped with a transparent floor, it will give those walking inside a goosebump-like view, with the sensation of moving in a vacuum.
In Alex Hogrefe's imagined design, the rock house also features a long monumental staircase that descends to a viewing platform.
Before realising this project, Hogrefe went into a research context: he collected many images of Icelandic cliffs and tried to match them to the concept through the use of photoshop.
Although this remains a mere work of fiction at the moment, it can by no means be ruled out that some adventurous patron might decide to realise it.
