It took place on 20 January in Modena, at Ferrari Museumthe Take Off Day 2018or the final event that crowns the annual Master in Car Design by Italian Design Institute. The Take Off Day represents an important opportunity for IDI trainees who, after the classroom phase, present the project they have been working on at the event.
An exceptional location for a high-level master's course, the classroom phase of which took place at the prestigious Automobile Museum in Turin.

The theme of this year's Project Work.

Central theme of the project workwhich saw the young aspiring designer, was the Ferrari Berlinetta.
Le Berlinette are a type of sports car that knows no crisis, just think of the historic models that have become iconic for theautomotivesuch as Jaguar, Mercedes, Aston Martinto name a few.
Models such as the 250 SWB or the 250 GTO have become legendary and in more recent times Ferrari has produced models such as the F 550 Maranello, its F12 Berlinetta and most recently the F 812 Superfast.
The students of the master's degree in car design from IDI have been tasked with creating a future generation of this type of car, studying the past but with an eye to the future, imagining the next generation Berlinetta.
Not an easy task but certainly very challenging for the 3 design teams.
With the help of the 3D model, the trainees sized the project to remain as close as possible to the assigned task.
The Transportation Designer Marco Amadio and the Senior Designer for Pininfarina Maurizio Corbi guided the boys in modelling and styling respectively.

Team 1 presents 'Hydrocorsa M'.
Hydrotravel were named the seaplanes competing in the Schneider Cup, 'M' in honour of the great animation director Hayao Miyazaki.
The front mid-mounted heat engine is coupled to the rear axle with an electric power unit, projecting a vehicle with the most classic layout possible into a near future characterised by hybrid and electric powertrains.
Team 1's project was considered the project most in line with what was required.

The design draws inspiration not only from the classic front-engined sedans of the Ferrari but also from mid-engined sports cars.
La car is a hybrid two-seater, extremely low and aerodynamic, characterised by mudguards suspended above a single central volume, lightened by a large glazing running from bonnet to rear window and leaving the front V12 in view.
A 1:10 scale model of this machine was also produced by 3D printing in PLA filament.

Team 3.

"Ferrari Jano' has aggressive characteristics, while not losing its elegance. Based on features 'berlinetta"with details that recall other styles, lead it to be considered an early Ferrari 'Cross-Over' concept. The group created a 3D hologram.
