Rio de Janeiro, World Architecture Capital for 2020. The carioca city, which hosted the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, is once again an international protagonist with its nomination as UNESCO World Capital of Architecture for 2020, beating out Paris and Melbourne.
An award that, with the approval of theInternational Union of Architects, aims to preserve the rich present architectural heritage. Many events will take place in the coming months, including the UIA World Congress, an event that takes place every three years and will focus on human-scale urban development and the sustainability in Architecture.
A series of events under the name 'All Worlds. Just One World' will see the participation of architects, urban planners, politicians, artists and writers in order to create dialogue and bring innovation to life.
