 The Master in 'Crypto Art & NFT - Fashion Cultures, Management and Preservation' is proposed as the first academic-professional reality, which crosses the worlds of political science, technology, visual arts and fashion. Candidates enrolled on this course will understand the complex production, legal, technological, distribution and monitoring dynamics of assets cultural diversity, benefiting from three synergetic and complementary modules, which will investigate, respectively, the world of international cultural security, the latest and most up-to-date technologies in traceability and authenticity (blockchain, NFTing, smart-contractingetc.), as well as tangible classes with experts from the visual arts and fashion industries, who will illustrate concrete applications of cutting-edge technologies for the enhancement and protection of these art segments (artificial intelligence, gamificationrobotics, etc.).

The master course aims to train new artists specialised in cryptographic art and NFT. The course, being the first of its kind in the area, gives participants an insight into a new reality that today represents the avant-garde and the future. NFT, Crypto Art and Metaverse or Metaverse will be discussed. One cannot remain a stranger to a phenomenon that - despite having exploded in 2018 - today evolves at the speed of light, counting numerous adhesions from artists, industry insiders, institutions and various platforms.

What you will learn

Cryptographic art area

The course offers learning about everything related to the world of Nft and Crypto art. It will see the contribution of experts from different professional backgrounds, on new and unexplored themes and topics with a strong economic and cultural impact that will necessarily have to be assimilated by all operators in the sector. The master's degree in Nft/Crypto arte/ Metaverso is addressed to all those who aspire to enter this new world, to learn about and deepen their knowledge of one of the most complex and interesting phenomena of the present and the future, and to all those who would like to work in this sector and integrate their skills in the artistic and digital fields. The master in this area offers the technical and practical knowledge to become an artist with skills in crypto art and nft.

  • The structure of the master's degree includes a second module divided into 3 areas of increasing and complementary learning:

Security area

This section aims to give candidates an understanding of the crime and security-related dynamics that characterise cultural trade at international level. Candidates will analyse, in particular, the phenomenon of counterfeiting, which falls within the category of crimes of a transnational nature, as it involves numerous public and private actors in various ways and causes a series of consequences for a multiplicity of subjects. The phenomenon of counterfeiting in Italy and innovative technological tools for the protection of Made in Italy will be dealt with (with specific case studies on the fashion and art sectors).

Area of applications in the visual arts world

Pupils will be exposed to a excursus history of some of the most recent art and market movements, including digital arts, crypto art, artificial intelligence art, robotic art and the arts from gamification. Candidates will acquire a technical, visual and professional vocabulary in order to understand these movements and contextualise them in an aesthetic, economic and legal perspective linked to avant-garde solutions from the world of technology - blockchain, NFTing, Artist Resale Right'setc.

Area of applications in the fashion world

Candidates will delve into the evolutions in the history and economics of fashion, as well as semiotics and sociology, starting from the first avant-gardes of the 20th century up to the present day. Thanks to important case studies, they will immerse themselves in a "real virtuality" through the analysis of innovations in digital matters by the largest luxury groups that have today transformed their investment in application and knowledge within the worlds of blockchain, NFT, gamification, etc. Parallel to this, an analysis will be carried out in the social sphere, on topics such as sustainability, diversity, inclusion.

Phases of the course

- Individual preparatory study (e-learning platforms + texts)
- 64 hours online: 16 meetings, 3 times a week, 09.00-13.00/ 14.00-18.00 Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
- 4 hours attendance: (1st day) at Meet | Digital Culture Centre (Milan)
- Individual or group Project Work: Creation of a nft work or realisation of an end-of-course event/exhibition highlighting the technological, curatorial, aesthetic, technological and legal skills acquired in the curriculum.
