Readings for architects and designers

Index

Professions in the of architectureof the design and the design need constant updates: the world of design is a world that is constantly evolving at an increasingly frenetic pace, with new trends being combined with increasingly advanced techniques and tools.
On the site architettifreelance there is a very interesting article, which gives useful advice on reading for an architect. Within the piece, five volumes are mentioned, for each of which the motivation is explained as to why it is right for one to have that volume in one's personal library.
These volumes are:

  1. Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson (Changing Yourself in a Changing World)
  2. Rich Father Poor Father by Robert T. Kiyosaki (What the rich teach their children about money)
  3. Four hours a week by Timothy Ferris (Rich and happy working 10 times less)
  4. The obstacle is the way by Ryan Holiday (The ancient art of turning adversity into advantage)
  5. It's easy to use your brain's 100% if you know how to use it by Richard Koch (Become your own manager)

We would like to add to these, a couple of readings for architects and designerswhich prove to be valuable content for those working in the sector.
We recommend for green space design enthusiasts the book 'The Landscape. 100 architects, 1000 ideas' by Daniela Santos Quartino. This book is a valuable source of inspiration and brings together the contributions of 100 professionals of all nationalities and suggestions from projects on five continents.
1000 ideas, accompanied by photographs, sketches and drawings, reflecting and responding to the perspectives, philosophies, schools and aesthetic sensibilities of the sector. A close look at the creativity behind the creation of Mediterranean gardens, northern European parks, and even city squares, boulevards, waterfronts and nature reserves.

And for design enthusiasts, an interesting and very quick read is 'From One Thing to Another' by Cleto Munari.
Readers will be delighted to discover, between the light-hearted pages of the well-known artist and designer, that the ability to design is not the exclusive and innate gift of a few. There is in fact, we read in the book, a creativity in each of us that we are often unaware of and that the Milanese writer, painter and experimenter in these pages helps to develop and bring to light.
All that remains is to wish everyone a good read.
