A folding house that can be built in six hours: this is not the latest gimmick from the bizarre Orient, but a truly innovative project made in Italy. A living space of 27 square metres for the modest price of 28,000 euros. The idea was developed by architect Renato Vidala wooden house folded in on itself which, when opened, becomes a home with every comfort.
The construction represents a viable alternative to traditional concrete houses and is called M.A.Di. (Modulo Abitativo Dispiegabile).
M.A.Di. can also be supported without foundations, in fact its structure is offgrid, i.e. completely self-sufficient. Equipped with solar panels, photovoltaics, grey water systems and LED lighting, it is a construction that also winks at sustainability and energy saving, produced in its standard version in class B and with the possibility of going up to A.
This folding house is also designed to be transported from one place to another and features an innovative, invisible and environmentally friendly anchoring system.
The house is certified as earthquake-proof, built with quality materials and available in various sizes: from 27 square metres to 56 square metres, or there is also the triple-family module of about 84 square metres.
