IDI's course for Curator of Parks and Historic Gardens has an excellent partner: the Villa Barbarigo Gardens

One must be particularly attentive to beauty and allow oneself to be traversed by it in order to learn to grasp all the aspects in what surrounds us.
Is there no truth more absolute than this... and where better to seek beauty than in nature and history?
If we combine these two elements we certainly get a fascinating story.
Parks, historic gardens, palaces of other erasas well as fountains made from sculptures, paths designed by hedges, trees and all around the pleasant, relaxing atmosphere of green, tidy, specially designed to create spaces of beauty.
To this activity is dedicated the Postgraduate course for curators of historic parks and gardens by Italian Design Institutea figure that unites knowledge of garden architecture and plant designbotany, agronomy, forestry, legislation, art history.
A professional, by the way, who is increasingly sought after, given the great heritage of historic parks and gardensas well as villas of undisputed cultural interest in our country.
Many of these places of cultural interest are in need of important and wise interventions so that they can once again be used or better enjoyed by the community as well as preserve or regain their environmental value.
The training course structured by IDI includes a preparatory study phase, a 24-hour online classroom phase and a 40-hour teaching workshop at the Gardens of Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio. Made between 1665 and 1696, it is an extraordinary example of symbolic gardenof water in complete efficiency and which today presents itself as one of the world's largest and most intact period gardenswhich won first prize as 'The most beautiful garden in Italy' in 2003 and the third most beautiful in Europe in 2007.
Rich in allegorical symbols, it is in this timeless place that the important workshop takes place at the end of the course, aimed at putting into practice the knowledge and techniques learnt in the online classroom phase. An unmissable opportunity for all course students who learn, in this way, how to develop landscape improvement solutions, how to carry out the technical and graphic design, how to deal with the management of the various phases of intervention and the communication plan, without forgetting the important regulatory background to be known.
Italian Design Institute chose for the practical phase of its course a place of excellence, one of the most representative symbols of Italy's historical parks, where the beauty of the spaces and the wisdom of human intervention have made it an architectural and landscape jewel to be admired, preserved and displayed.
