The IBLA GARDEN, SPA and WELLNESS CENTER project presented ideally encompasses a natural environment of ancient charm. The protagonist is the watercourse of the River Anapo, which flows through the valley of the Sicilian Necropolis of Pantalica (13th century B.C.), ideally uniting the Hyblean Mountains with the sea of the Gulf of Syracuse.
The 'signs' of this rupestrian architecture, represented by the 'grotto' tombs that the ancient inhabitants built on the canyon's rock walls, have become the matrix of the project's forms. To these are added the surfaces of the wooden pathways of the spa that ideally refer to the trees that line the watercourse, while the colours belonging to the rock walls are found in the furnishings and flooring, the transparencies of the river in the glass and water, and the green of the pine forests in the green of the vegetation elements present.
