Orizzontale is a group of architects based in Rome, specialized in architecture, landscape, public art and self-construction. Orizzontale since 2010 has been promoting projects of common relational spaces,giving form to dismissed and unseen cities. Orizzontale designs public spaces, experimenting with new forms of interaction between inhabitants and urban common goods, testing the limits of architectural creation. Orizzontale has developed projects in Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Greece, Ukraine, Portugal, Holland. In 2014 he created "8 ½", the mobile theater which won the international Young Architects Program award ("YAP MAXXI 2014") organized by the MAXXI Museum and the MoMA PS1. In 2016, the “Prossima Apertura” project won the “Periferie” competition organized by MIBACT and CNAPPC for the Aprilia area and in 2018, at the "Biennale di Venezia". Furthermore the collective received the “Young Talent of Italian Architecture from the CNAPPC 2018 ", which rewards the best Italian under35 studio.
