Mobile microcases - how to travel while staying at home

Index

Barche, roulotte, caravan e, perché no, autentiche case. Ecco le quattro proposte più convincenti di un settore dell’architettura e dell’interior design che è molto più dinamico e interessante di quello che ci si potrebbe aspettare.

The Bunkie

The Bunkie, Premier model (area: 10 sqm - price: 33,500 euro)

The Bunkie is a Canadian company specialising in 10 m2 micro houses. With this surface area, in fact, the laws of the United States and Canada allow building without requiring permits. The houses are made entirely of wood, the windows are insulated and heating is provided by an efficient fireplace. The model in the photo is the most expensive, but in the product range there is also a self-build model on sale for 7,500 euros.

Tumbleweed Cypress

Tumbleweed, Cypress model (area: 12 sqm - price: 52,000 euro)

A classic-style mobile home, completely made of solid wood, with all the comforts of a real home. All you need is a trailer hitch and a propane tank to go and live anywhere in the world. Available in four models, from 12 to 17.5 square metres with prices ranging from 45 thousand to 63 thousand euros.

Cinderbox

The Cinderbox (area: 18 square metres - price: 17,000 euro)

Beautifully designed project that follows the styles of minimalist aesthetics. The contrast between the burnt wood outside and the light wood of the interior is particularly successful. The patio and living room on the ground floor are separated only by a full-height glass partition. The sleeping area is created in a loft that is perfectly integrated into the structure. A very attractive solution for seasonal living in unspoilt natural surroundings.

Koda

Kodasema Studio, Koda model (area: 30 sqm - Price: 100,000 euro)

Precast concrete micro-house designed and built by an Estonian architectural firm specialising in the use of natural materials. It can be created on site in about seven hours. The same time is needed to dismantle it so that it can be transported to another location. On the ground floor are the living room, kitchen and bathroom. On the upper floor is the bedroom. The house is perfectly thermally and acoustically insulated. The roof is covered with solar panels.

Obviously interior design of these micro houses becomes a priority. In order to be comfortable in a few square metres, every cubic centimetre of interior space must be designed as rationally and inventively as possible.
