[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dal 16 al 28 novembre 2015 si è svolta a Milano la nuova edizione del Master in Interior design IDI. During these two weeks of full immersion the participants learnt all the conceptual tools useful to the profession, got to know the modus operandi of the various architects and designers who accompanied them in this phase of the course, and tried their hand at designing. Final objective of the entire training courseLearning an operational methodology that is valid both in the design of interior spaces in a private home and in the design of a commercial space in the restaurant sector.

For the first type of project, students were taught and the valuable advice of architect Marco Torofor the second those of designer Lorenzo Longo. It was with the latter professional that, divided into two groups, the students worked on the design of a spaghetteria and an ethnic restaurant, starting with the creation of a moodboard, a kind of graphic map that serves to illustrate the visual concepts chosen by the designer and which also acts as a guide during the entire journey from design to realisation.

In the training of an interior designer, an important role is played by the Constant updating on the latest market innovations and prevailing trends. To emphasise this concept, we organised for our students a visit to the showrooms of Gorlini-Glas Italia and those of Knoll and Davide Groppi. In particular, in the Glas Italia flagship store, innovative solutions for separating and shielding interior spaces were analysed together with lecturers. On display in the Knoll showroom were some products that have made design history, works by the likes of Saarinen, Bertoia, Breuer and Mies vad der Rohe. The display of lamps by Davide Groppi was particularly significant in assessing the synergy between technological innovation and creative solutions.

The first week of full immersion ended with a workshop held by architect and designer Luca Solazzo which, after illustrating the evolution of some of its residential projects of different sizes (50, 90 and 240 square metres), involved the trainees in the interior design of an ergonomic and innovative office. With the light designer architect Adriano CaputoSome interesting topics were covered, such as the difference between natural and artificial light, colour temperatures, the concepts of movement in space and vision. In addition, the techniques to best analyse the environment into which the light element must be introduced in order to create evocative and involving sensorial solutions. In fact, the importance that light plays in an interior design project can never be underestimated: it defines spaces, accompanies everyday gestures and gives character and personality to environments. It is an instrument of comfort, but at the same time a furnishing complement, as was evident during the guided tour at the Artemide showroom.

The following also took place during the classroom phase of the Master in Interior Design two interesting seminarsone on the design of retail spaces to encourage purchasing, a seminar held by an outstanding visual merchandiser, Gianfranco Giacoma Cairethe other on hotel design, held by thearchitect Armando Bruno, managing director of Studio Marco Piva, seminar that closed this second 2015 edition of the master course. For our students it was a challenging but richly stimulating path and exclusive experiencessuch as a visit to the studio of designer and architect Michele De Lucchi, a valuable opportunity to closely observe creativity in action. A course that fully met the expectations of our trainees, who now have the right skills to realise their project work.

After this phase, the time will finally come for the long-awaited (and dreaded) internship period, an opportunity to put into practice all the knowledge they have learnt, as well as to measure themselves against the real day-to-day work of their chosen profession.
