Alaa’ Najd began his career in fashion at the age of 27, after leaving his previous profession to pursue his lifelong passion. He enrolled in the fashion design program at ESMOD, a renowned Paris-based fashion school with international programs, including one in Beirut. During his three years at university, he consistently excelled, winning the jury prizes each year and securing internships with esteemed Lebanese international fashion houses.
Following his academic success, Alaa’ gained invaluable experience working with several prominent designers, honing his skills in both design and creative pattern drafting. His career took a pivotal turn when he participated in Project Runway Middle East, where Elie Saab served as head of the jury. Alaa’ emerged as the inaugural winner of the show’s first season. The mentorship he received during the program helped him refine his creative style while developing a keen awareness of the commercial market, shaping the designer he is today.
Alaa’ Najd’s creative approach to fashion design is defined by a harmonious blend of minimalism, classical influences, and modern sophistication. His aesthetic is inspired by the clean lines of geometric forms, the striking appeal of architecture, and the intricate folds of origami. His vision for the modern woman is powerful and evocative, reflecting strength and elegance.
A hallmark of his designs is the incorporation of menswear techniques, employing details and materials from shirts and suits—such as tailored collars, trousers, jumpsuits, and shirting and suiting fabrics. His work results in bold statement pieces crafted for empowered women who want to stand out from the crowd.
